REI strongly believes in supporting the community through past or active involvement in the following organizations:

  • Rotary International - Board of Directors for Wausau Earlybird Rotary Club. This kayak sculpture at the entrance of downtown Wausau was donated by Wausau Earlybird Rotary Club, a group with which REI has been actively involved.
  • Wausau Boys and Girls Club - Board of Directors
  • Community Foundation of Northcentral Wisconsin - Board of Directors
  • Wausau River's Edge Commission - Board of Directors
  • Wausau/Marathon County Chamber of Commerce - Actively involved the Small Business Committee, Legislative Committe and others.
  • Mosinee Soft Skills Career Information Day - REI mentors high school students in engineering, surveying and environmental consulting. REI ranks among the top businesses that students want to return to year after year.
  • Project Lead the Way - REI is very active with the local Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Program in the surrounding High Schools. PLTW is a not-for-profit organization that promotes pre-engineering courses for students. REI has been on the PLTW advisory committee since 2005 and has not only brought engineering into the class room but the class room to the engineering by partnering with the local businesses to provide tours of several local engineering projects in the Wausau area.
  • Educational Speaking - REI professionals attend classrooms and talk to students of all ages on a variety of topics including environmental protection.
  • Junior Achievement of Central Wisconsin - REI teaches Junior Achievement curriculum in classrooms throughout the community.
